Using 3D Modeling in Architecture and Design

3D modeling helps us create buildings and designs so that you (as well as the sub-contractors doing the build) can see your project in its entirety. Unlike standard CAD programs, our software creates the structure of the building as we go, including wall layers, structural members, and foundation details. When we settle on your home design, making the transition to building plans is simplified, and therefore more cost effective for you.

Working Together on 3D Models

When creating 3D models for homes, it's important that we work together. As we progress through the process, there is a lot of back-and-forth as you truly see the vision come to life, based on what you want and our knowledge of architectural design. Communication helps us to know exactly what you want and what you’d like us to build for you. We start with something as simple as a Pinterest board and a napkin sketch and build from there. Also, between Drone-like walkthrough videos where we tour the design at different stages of completion with explanations, to actual Zoom or Webex meetings in which it’s “virtually” the same as us sitting in the same room in front of the computer for personal design sessions, you get to experience the designing as thoroughly as possible.

What's Next in 3D Modeling for Buildings?

In the future, 3D modeling for architecture will see some cool changes. Computers will get smarter and Virtual reality (where you can wear goggles and immerse yourself in the experience) will let architects and clients walk around in the model as if it's a real building. We have the BETA version now ;) Also, 3D printing could be used more to make small models of the buildings.

3D modeling in architecture and design is a growing field that blends creativity and technology. It's all about learning new tools and methods to bring building designs to life before they are built which allows you, as the homeowner, to have pride and satisfaction, knowing you helped ‘build’ your dream home.
